Privacy Policy
NewtoneTech
Effective date: March 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the NewtoneTech website and Android app collect, use, and process information when you use study features such as question practice, OCR answer checking, AI grading, AI explanations, APK updates, and teacher-assistant tools.
1. Information We Collect
- Study content you submit, such as typed answers, selected options, hints requested, and review chat messages.
- Images you upload for OCR and answer checking, including multi-page answer photos.
- Derived study data needed to operate the service, such as OCR text, extracted answer segments, grading feedback, missing keywords, and model answers.
- Teacher feature profile data if used, such as display name, teacher preferences, memory settings, saved memory facts, and a generated device identifier.
- Technical and release data such as app version, version code, update checks, and basic request or error information needed to keep the service running.
- Device permissions you choose to grant, such as camera, microphone, and file access, when those features are used.
2. How We Use Information
- To generate questions, check answers, perform OCR, identify the relevant answer on a page, and return marks and explanations.
- To provide AI-assisted features such as hints, perfect answers, review chat, teacher replies, and teacher audio.
- To remember teacher profile settings and operate session features you choose to use.
- To publish app updates, check release versions, maintain security, debug technical issues, and improve reliability.
3. AI and Third-Party Processing
The service uses OpenAI-powered features for grading, OCR-related workflows, hints, answer explanations, perfect answers, teacher interactions, and audio generation. Text, images, and audio that you submit for these features may be sent to the AI service provider strictly to produce the requested result.
Do not submit personal, medical, financial, or other sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary for your study use case.
4. Storage and Retention
- Teacher profile settings and teacher memory data may be stored on the server so those features can persist across sessions.
- Generated study content and release metadata may be cached to improve speed and consistency.
- Submitted answers and uploaded images are processed to provide grading and review features. The service is not designed as a permanent long-term student answer archive, but temporary processing data, logs, backups, or server-side operational records may exist.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate requested features, such as AI processing, or when required by law, security needs, or platform obligations.
6. Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect service data, but no internet or device-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Use the app responsibly and avoid submitting unnecessary personal information.
7. Your Choices
- You can avoid using camera, microphone, and teacher features if you do not want those data types processed.
- You can control app permissions from your device settings.
- You can stop using the website or app at any time.
8. Children and Educational Use
This service is intended for educational use by students and learners. Schools, parents, and guardians should supervise usage where appropriate, especially when answer images or voice features are involved.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will be available at this page, and the effective date will be updated when changes are made.
